Abstract: A portable pipe cutter assembly in accordance with an embodiment of the present application includes a cutting blade that is mounted to move up and down in a vertical plane to cut a pipe. The assembly may include a cradle that supports a lower part of the pipe to prevent deformation as it is being cut. The cutting blade is preferably moved by a battery operated motor.
