Abstract: The present invention relates to [1] a pigment-containing water-based ink for ink-jet printing which is free of turbidity and excellent in capability of suppressing occurrence of image unevenness (MOTTLING) when printed on a low-water absorbing recording medium, said ink including at least one acetylene glycol (A) selected from the group consisting of 2,4,7,9-tetramethyl-5-decyne-4,7-diol and the like, and a nonionic surfactant (B), a content of the component (A) in the water-based ink being not less than 1.0% by mass and not more than 3.0% by mass, and a mass ratio of the component (B) to the component (A) [(B)/(A)] being not less than 1 and not more than 3; and [2] an ink-jet printing method for printing images or characters on a low-water absorbing recording medium using said water-based ink for ink-jet printing.

Abstract: A resin dispersion for dye receiving layer of a thermal transfer image-receiving sheet, including a polyester resin particle and an aqueous medium. The polyester resin particle includes a polyester resin that is a polycondensate of an alcohol component including at least one of a propylene oxide adduct of 2,2-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)propane and an ethylene oxide adduct of 2,2-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)propane, and a carboxylic acid component including an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid compound having a carbon number of 6 or more and 10 or less. A molar ratio of the propylene oxide adduct of 2,2-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)propane to the ethylene oxide adduct of 2,2-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)propane in the alcohol component is 0/100 or more and 40/60 or less. A molar ratio of the ethylene oxide adduct of 2,2-bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)propane to the aliphatic dicarboxylic acid compound having a carbon number of 6 or more and 10 or less is 2.1 or more and 15 or less.

Abstract: The present invention provides a water-based ink that is excellent in adhesion to a resin printing medium formed of a resin such as polyethylene terephthalate, polyvinyl chloride, polyethylene, polypropylene, nylon, etc., gloss and anti-blocking properties upon storage of the printing medium after printing. The present invention relates to [1] a water-based ink including a colorant, polyester resin particles and modified polyolefin resin particles, in which the polyester resin particles are constituted of a resin containing an amorphous polyester having a glass transition temperature of not lower than 40° C. and not higher than 100° C., and a mass ratio of the polyester resin particles to the modified polyolefin resin particles (polyester resin particles/modified polyolefin resin particles) is not less than 10/90 and not more than 90/10, and [2] an ink-jet printing method including the steps of allowing the water-based ink according to the above [1] to adhere onto a resin printing medium by an ink-jet printing method; and then heating the resin printing medium onto which the water-based ink is adhered, to a temperature of not lower than 40° C. and not higher than 100° C.
