Abstract: The invention relates to a safety circuit of an elevator and also to a method for identifying a functional nonconformance of the safety circuit of an elevator. In the method a message is formed in node A, a testing field is added to the message for testing the operation of the safety circuit of an elevator, and the aforementioned message containing the testing field is sent from node A to the communications bus in the safety circuit of the elevator.
