Abstract: A method and a system monitor a movable object in an elevator shaft by an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The UAV is positioned into a wanted location within the elevator shaft, in which the movable object to be monitored is within view of an imaging sensor of the UAV, and movement of the UAV is automatically synchronized with the movement of the movable object based on UAV's on position and movement characteristics and received status data. Imaging sensor of the UAV obtains image data of the movable object during operation of the elevator and image data is stored and/or sent wirelessly.

Abstract: A method for detecting an entrapment situation inside an elevator car includes receiving an inoperable notification indicating an inoperable condition of the elevator car; obtaining from at least one imaging device arranged inside the elevator car real-time image data of the interior of the elevator car; detecting one or more human objects inside the elevator car by performing a detection procedure based on the obtained real-time image data and a at least one previously generated reference image; and generating a signal indicating a detection of the entrapment situation. Generating of the at least one reference image includes obtaining from the at least one imaging device random image data of the interior of the elevator car, wherein the random image data includes a plurality of images captured in a plurality of random reference scenarios; and processing the obtained random image data to generate the at least one reference image. An elevator computing unit, a detection system, and a computer program for detecting an entrapment situation inside an elevator car are also disclosed.

Abstract: A method for managing a maintenance of a people conveyor system is provided. The method, performed by a control system, includes receiving data indicative of a state of the people conveyor system; classifying the state of the people conveyor system to correspond to one maintenance operation among a plurality of maintenance operations; and setting, in accordance with a classification of the state of the people conveyor system, a detection result to express one of the following: (i) a mobile robot is required to perform the maintenance operation, (ii) a human operator is required to perform the maintenance operation.
