Abstract: The present invention relates to a device (100), system (500) and method for determining SpO2 (160) of a subject. Two types of PPG measurements, widefield PPG with a homogenous illumination and/or a spot pattern and radial PPG with a spot illumination, are used to quantify the discrepancy in penetration depths for electromagnetic radiation in the red spectral range and infrared spectral range. This discrepancy in penetration depth is then used to find a more stable ratio signals of ratios, RR, and thus a more accurate SpO2 (160).
