    摘要： A facsimile apparatus having a housing (10) for the apparatus and a telephone placing portion (12) disposed at an upper part of the housing, on which a telephone (11) connected to a public telephone network can be placed. The facsimile apparatus further including elements (18) for scanning an original by feeding the original to generate electrical signals representing image information of the original and elements (19) for recording image information applied to the apparatus through the public telephone network on a sheet. Both the scanning elements and the recording elements are disposed side by side along the direction of feeding of the original. The telephone placing portion is disposed above both the scanning elements and the recording elements to cover the upper portion of both the scanning elements and the recording elements. The apparatus further includes a first passage (32) disposed between the telephone placing portion and the scanning elements for feeding the original and second passage (33) disposed between the telephone placing portion and the recording elements, for feeding the original passed through the first passage. Both the first passage and the second passage can be opened to the outside by opening the placing portion.

    摘要： The paper feeding device comprises a drive source having a shaft rotatable in forward or reverse direction and a drive gear mounted fixedly to the shaft, a sun gear engaging with the drive gear and being rotatable around a supporting point, first and second planetary arms mounted rotatably to the supporting point of the sun gear, respectively, first and second planetary gears engaging with the sun gear and attached rotatably to the first and second planetary arms, respectively, and arm lock mechanism for positioning and fixing the first and second planetary arms, respectively. The rotation of the shaft of the drive source is transmitted through the first planetary gear to an original feeding roller in the transmission mode and to a platen roller in the reception mode. The driving force is transmitted to the original feeding roller via the second planetary gear and to the platen roller via the first planetary gear in the copy mode.

    摘要： An object of the invention is to provide a sheet member processing apparatus by which a necessary working space is secured and a workability can be enhanced in doing maintenance. A housing space (32) in which processing means (26) is housed can be opened and closed by displacing a front cover potion (31) relative to a casing (30) of a casing (21). In the casing (21), a document discharge port (35) is formed upper than the front cover section (31). On the front cover section (31) is provided a document discharge tray (24) which receives a discharged document. When the cover section (31) is made to be displaced relative to the casing main body (30), the document discharge tray (24) is displaced together with the front cover section (31). This makes it possible to secure the large working space and enhance the workability, for instance, when an operator replaces consumable articles such as an ink cartridge (53).

    摘要： An image reader/recorder assembly unit for use in a facsimile system is provided with an image reader containing a number of sensor elements aligned in an image scanning direction and an image recorder containing a number of recording elements. The image reader and the image recorder are of a specific length shorter than the full scanning width. Image data is read and recorded as the image reader and the image recorder move in the image scanning direction, both of these units being mounted on independent carriages. In addition, the edges of adjacent image data are recorded twice at a lower density to achieve a predetermined density through two recording operations despite superimposition. This prevents degradation of the recorded image data quality.

    摘要： A plurality of sheets stacked on a lifting plate are fed to a separator plate and separated so that only a single sheet will be transported with the rotation of a feed roller. The single sheet is transported downstream in a sheet feeding direction. When the single sheet has been transported to a target position reaching a transport roller and a pinch roller, a sheet aligning/pressing portion and a separator plate pressing portion displace the remaining sheets in a direction away from the feed roller. This causes an abutting portion to move away from the feed roller, and prevent the remaining sheets from moving downstream in the sheet feeding direction.
