摘要： A liquid crystal display module includes a liquid crystal display panel having a liquid crystal layer sandwiched between a pair of substrates, an illuminating device disposed behind the liquid crystal display panel, an upper frame, and a lower frame. The upper and lower frames fix therebetween the liquid crystal display panel and the illuminating device as an integral unit in cooperation with each other. The upper frame is provided with at least one recessed portion in a sidewall thereof, the at least one recessed portion is set back in a direction parallel with major surfaces of the substrates from the sidewall, and a bottom of the at least one recessed portion is provided with a tapped hole adapted for engagement with a screw for mounting the liquid crystal display module to external equipment.

摘要： A liquid crystal display monitor includes a liquid crystal display module having a liquid crystal display panel and an illuminating device fixed between first and second frames. The rear surface of the second frame is provided with a tapped hole engaging with a screw, and a thickness of the second frame in the vicinity of the tapped hole is greater than that of the remainder of the second frame. The illuminating device includes plural line light sources behind the panel and a reflector behind the light sources. The reflector is shaped to have portions protruding toward the panel between the light sources and to have portions convex toward the second frame, and the tapped hole is provided in portions of the second frame corresponding to the portions of the reflector protruding toward the panel.

A plurality of pixel electrodes which are formed on the insulating layer and are arranged between two of the common electrodes. A data line which is formed on the insulating layer and extends to form a data pad and a switching element having a gate connected to the gate line, a source connected to the data line and a drain connected to the pixel electrode.

摘要： A liquid crystal display device including a first substrate and a second substrate having a liquid crystal composition layer disposed therebetween, a black matrix formed on at least one of the first substrate and the second substrate, and a video signal line formed between a face of the first substrate and a face of the liquid crystal composition layer. At least one pixel electrode is formed at each of pixels adjoining each other through the video signal line and fed with a selected video signal through the video signal line, and at least one counter electrode is fed with a counter voltage. An optical transmissivity of the liquid crystal composition layer is controlled by an electric field component which is generated between the pixel electrode and the counter electrode. One of the counter electrodes of the individual pixels is positioned at opposite sides of the video signal line, and the black matrix is formed over the video signal line. The black matrix has a widthwise contour which extends at least as far as the counter electrodes positioned adjacent to the opposite sides of the video signal line.

摘要： A liquid crystal display device including a liquid crystal composition layer having twistable liquid crystal molecules, a first substrate and a second substrate having the liquid crystal composition layer disposed therebetween, a video signal line formed on a face of the first substrate. At least one pixel electrode is fed with a video signal through the video signal line, and at least one counter electrode fed with a counter voltage, the pixel electrode and the counter electrode being opposed to each other. The twisting extent of the liquid crystal moles is controlled by an electric field component which is generated between the pixel electrode and the counter electrode. A spacing between the pixel electrode and the counter electrode arranged to oppose each other is larger than a width of at least one of the pixel electrode and the counter electrode and smaller than a spacing between the pixel electrode and the video signal line.

In the liquid display device are formed pixels where the light transmission factor of the liquid crystal is changed by use of an electric field which is established between the pixel electrode and the counter electrode and has the component in parallel with the surface of the substrate, the dielectric constant anisotropy .DELTA..epsilon., the effective thickness deff of the liquid crystal layer, the width Wp of the pixel electrode in the short-side direction, the width Wc of the counter electrode in the short-side direction, and the gap L between the pixel electrode and the counter electrode satisfy the following relationships, .DELTA..epsilon.>0, 2.8 .mu.m.ltoreq.deff.ltoreq.4.5 .mu.m, and 1.2.times.deff.ltoreq.Wp.ltoreq.L/1.2, 1.2.times.deff.ltoreq.Wc.ltoreq.L/1.2, or .DELTA..epsilon.

摘要： A liquid crystal display device includes a pair of substrates with a liquid crystal layer interposed between the pair of substrates. A video signal line and scanning signal line formed on one of the pair of substrates cross each other in a matrix form with a plurality of pixels are formed by adjoining the video signal lines and the scanning signal lines. A pixel electrode and a counter electrode are arranged in the plurality of pixels, respectively. A transparent electrically conductive layer is formed over one of the pair of substrates at a viewed side of the liquid crystal display device which is opposite to the liquid crystal layer side and the counter electrode is provided adjacent to the video signal line.

摘要： A liquid crystal display device including a liquid crystal composition layer having twistable liquid crystal molecules, a first substrate and a second substrate having the liquid crystal composition layer disposed therebetween, and a video signal line formed between a face of the first substrate and a face of the liquid crystal composition layer with at least one pixel electrode and at least one counter electrode being formed at each of pixels adjoining each other across the video signal line. The pixel electrode is fed with a selected video signal through the video signal line, and the counter electrode is fed with a counter voltage. The twisting extent of the liquid crystal molecules is controlled by an electric field which is generated between the pixel electrode and the counter electrode and which has a component substantially parallel to said first substrate. One of the counter electrodes of the individual pixels is positioned at opposite sides of the video signal line, and the one of the counter electrodes has a width which is at least equal to one half of the width of the video signal line.
