    摘要： An image fixing apparatus includes a heating device, a non-endless film movable together with a toner image supporting medium, wherein the toner image on the supporting medium is heated by the heating device through the film, a rewinding device for rewinding the film in a direction opposite to a movement direction of the toner image supporting medium, and a pressing device for press-contacting the film to the heating device and to the image supporting medium, wherein the rewinding device rewinds the film while the pressing device does not perform its pressing operation.

    摘要： An image forming apparatus contains an accommodator for accommodating a recording material together with an image forming device for forming an image on that recording material supplied from the accommodator. A fixing apparatus receives the imaged recording material and includes a heat generating resistor layer, a protection layer covering the heat generating resistor layer and a sheet movable with the recording material in sliding contact with the protection layer, wherein the image is heated by heater through the sheet. A position detector detects the position of the recording material and the power supply to the heat generating resistor layer is started in accordance with the output of the position detector.

    摘要： An image fixing apparatus includes a heater; a sheet in slidable contact with the heater; and a back-up member cooperative with the heater to form a nip therebetween such that the sheet is interposed in the nip. An unfixed image on a side of a recording material in contact with the sheet is heated and fixed by heat from the heater through the sheet. The sheet includes (i) a base resin layer in slidable contact with the heater, and (ii) a surface parting layer disposed on the base resin layer. The surface parting layer is thinner than the base resin layer.
