摘要： A head actuator is made thinner without sacrificing its strength to thereby achieve the thinning of a hard disk apparatus. On the base end of each of two suspensions is provided a boss that protrudes in the direction of the side on which a magnetic head is provided, and a suspension fixing section having a hole into which the bosses are inserted is formed towards the tip of an arm. The boss of one of the suspensions is inserted into the hole from the upper end section thereof, and the boss of the other suspension is inserted into the hole from the lower end section thereof. Thus, the arm is fixed in place by being held by the two suspensions from above and below.

摘要： A flying head slider that keeps out dust particles while improving the CFH characteristics, skew dependence characteristics, and linear speed dependence characteristics for achieving a stable fly height. A flying head slider includes a positive pressure generating surface, which includes a leading pad for ensuring pitch stiffness; a pair of side pads, which are positioned behind of the leading pad and to the right and the left for ensuring roll stiffness; and a center pad, which is positioned between the side pads and controls the fly height characteristics. Furthermore, the flying head slider includes steps, which are at a lower height than the positive pressure generating surfaces and extend from the front of the slider toward side edges thereof in order to prevent dust particles from entering an area between the flying head slider and a disk surface.

摘要： In a removable disk storage apparatus, a reading/writing head can be stably and reliably moved so as to correspond to an information recording medium. A rotation supporting member for supporting the reading/writing head is formed of a rotary arm and an elastic supporting member fitted to a tip end portion of the rotary arm for supporting the reading/writing head. The rotary arm member is formed by bending it so that it should be dogleg-shaped. The elastic supporting body is fixed on a tip end portion of a bent portion thereof in the extended direction in which the elastic supporting body is bent. The rotary arm is inserted into a disk cartridge substantially straight with its tip end being faced to the disk cartridge, and then supported by a ramp on a center line thereof.
