    摘要： The present invention relates to an image forming apparatus which forms the multiple image by transferring the color toner images onto the transfer material sequentially. In such apparatus the drive source is provided for each image bearing member to rotate it. The ultrasonic motor is suitably used as the drive source and is attached to the rotary shaft thereof to detect rotating condition of the motor.
