This is accomplished by determining the scene illuminant and determining an optimum color-correction transformation in response to the scene illuminant which transform minimizes color errors between an original scene and a reproduced image by adjusting three or more parameters.

    摘要: A method and apparatus are disclosed for calibrating a digital printer to provide a substantially aim printer response. A test target is processed through a set of potential calibration functions to form a set of processed test targets and the set of processed test targets is printed using the digital printer. Thereafter, the set of printed test targets is measured to determine the printer response. An error criterion is determined for each measured test target by comparing the measured printer response for each of the set of potential calibration functions to the aim printer response. The calibration function which has the smallest value of the error criterion is then selected.

    摘要: A system that allows a user to apply image processing functions to localized regions of a photographic or negative image supplied by a photographer. The image is displayed on a touch sensitive display and the user can, by touching the display, maneuver a window to pan, zoom-in and zoom-out on particular portions of the image to designate a region to be processed. The operator can precisely indicate where the artifact to be removed is located and will know precisely the area of the image that will be processed. Only the portion of image seen by the user in the window is processed when the user indicates a function should be applied to the image. That is, what the user sees is what is processed. The processed image can be printed or otherwise reproduced.
