摘要： A carriage drive unit for a printer includes a typewheel and a printing hammer for striking a type element of the typewheel against a ribbon to reproduce the type element on a printing paper, both of which are provided on a carriage. The carriage is driven by a carriage drive motor in response to a drive control signal SG2 output by a CPU, before the printing hammer, which is driven by a hammer drive motor in response to a drive control signal SG5, reaches a printing position, for avoiding a loss time period due to a carriage response delay upon a start of the carriage drive motor.

摘要： A paper feeding apparatus for the printer having an intermittent mechanism between a driving motor and both a paper feed roller and a platen. The intermittent mechanism allows both the platen and the paper feed roller to rotate simultaneously and also allows only the platen to rotate while the paper feed roller is suspended, so that a sheet of printing paper is set straight along the platen. When the rotational direction of the driving motor is reversed to reverse that of the platen, the driving motor stops rotating for a limited period. Under such conditions the sheet is fed properly in response to the rotation of the platen, being free from the inertia force of the sheet and from the platen's vibration.

摘要： A method and apparatus for use with a mobile body navigation system are provided for reducing an amount of position data, expressing successive positions along a route that has been traversed by a mobile body, which are recorded by a data recording section to subsequently provide a route display or are transmitted by radio by a data transmitting section. A position recording judgement section uses one or more judgement criteria to obtain an indication of the degree of accuracy of each of the vehicle positions that are calculated by the navigation system, and enables recording or transmission of only those data that express positions for which the judgement criteria indicate that the corresponding degree of accuracy is sufficiently high.

摘要： The invention provides an on-vehicle communication terminal that secures a report to a center and safety of a crew by providing short-range radio communication means in the on-vehicle communication terminal, separately configuring a mobile terminal provided with a part of the functions of a conventional on-vehicle terminal detached therefrom, and letting the crew who are escaping carry a mobile terminal.That is, an on-vehicle terminal (1) according to the invention includes location information detecting means (11), state sensor (14) for detecting an abnormal state and outputting the state information, first radio communication means (12) for transmitting predetermined data including state information, location information on a plurality of locations and a terminal ID to the information service center (2) on occurrence of a predetermined event, and second radio communication means (16) for providing radio communications between the on-vehicle terminal (1) and the mobile terminal (3). The mobile terminal (3) includes second radio communication means (31) and further location information detecting means (11) and a state sensor (14). Thus, by configuring an on-vehicle communication terminal with a combination of the on-vehicle terminal (1) and the mobile terminal (3), the crew can report to the information service center (2) while securing safety in the event of an accident.
