Abstract: A door frame and a method for providing an elevator with a door frame. The door frame is a three-sided structure installed in an opening portion of an entrance of the elevator. The door frame comprises two opposite upright frame parts and an upper frame part disposed between upper end portions of the upright frame parts. The upright frame parts and the upper frame part each comprise at least one mounting frame element and at least one separate surface element attachable removably to the mounting frame.
