摘要： A plate-shaped display device is partitioned into a meter display area and a HUD display area. Images displayed on the display device are visible on both front and rear surfaces of the display device. A direct image displayed on the meter display area is projected toward an eye range of a vehicle driver. A reflected image displayed on the HUD display area is firstly projected in a direction opposite to the eye range. Then, the reflected image is reflected at a magnifying mirror and a windshield, then finally projected toward the eye range.

摘要： An object of the present invention is to provide a head-up display apparatus and a cover-mirror unit used for the same. A movable member 3′ of the cover-mirror unit stands up along a flat inner wall 1a1 of a housing 1a when the head-up display apparatus is in use, and lie down to cover an opening of the housing 1a when the head-up display apparatus is not in use for carrying out an up/down operation. In particular, through the down operation, by a link mechanism, a bottom end of the movable member is gradually moved upward by following the inner wall 1a1 of the housing 1a. Therefore, though the movable member 3′ stands up along the inner wall 1a1 of the housing 1a when the head-up display apparatus is in use, the movable member 3′ never interferes with the inner wall 1a1 through the up/down operation.

摘要： In a head-up display apparatus for a vehicle, an aspherical surface of a reflection mirror compensates a distorted projected image caused by non-planarity of a windshield at a predetermined projection area thereon. When moving an eye point of a vehicle driver, an adjustment mechanism moves a stopper pushing the reflection mirror to adjust a reflecting angle so that the reflection mirror reflects light beams to the projection area and the projection area reflects the light beams toward the eye range. During the angle adjustment, an urging member and the stopper hold the reflection mirror.

By using the windshield, the projection area can be formed into the windshield without an extra deformation.

摘要： A display includes a case and a display source received in the case, and allows a virtual image of an image displayed on the display source projected on a windshield of a vehicle through an opening of the case to be superimposed on a foreground image through the windshield which is visually recognized at an eye point of the vehicle. A cover for the display is configured to prevent foreign particles from entering an inside of the case through the opening, and allows the image projected from the display source to pass therethrough. The cover has substantially a wedge cross section so as to align a substantially straight light path of direct light from an arbitrary point on the display source through the cover without reflection with a reflected light path of reflected light from the arbitrary point and reflected twice on inner surfaces of the cover.
