    摘要: The present invention relates to a plasma display panel, in particular to a plasma display apparatus and driving method of same, wherein the bightness of sustain light generated by a sustain pulse by performing floating either a scan electrode or a sustain electrode during a sustain period, thereby increasing the driving efficiency of the plasma display apparatus. A plasma display apparatus according to an aspect of the present invention comprises a plasma display panel comprising a first electrode and a second electrode; and a controller for applying an auxiliary discharge pulse to the second electrode, when a sustain pulse is applied to the first electrode, during a sustain period.

In the method, first sustaining pulses are applied to the scan electrodes such that a sustain discharge can be generated. Second sustaining pulse are applied to the sustain electrodes in such a manner to be alternated with the first sustaining pulses. A stabilization pulse is applied to an address electrode provided alternately with the scan electrode for each discharge cell such that said sustain discharge can be generated via a surface-discharge area of a voltage close curve.

    摘要: Control method and system for improving the color temperature of an alternating current (AC) plasma display panel (PDP) are disclosed. The method and apparatus controls the color temperature of an AC PDP, and can maintain high luminance and luminous efficiency even in an XGA class discharge cell as well as a VGA class discharge cell because a discharge space is dispersed from a sustain electrode to the direction of a writing electrode, to thus obtain strong sustain discharge having a large discharge space when a pulse is simultaneously applied to the writing electrode while a sustain pulse waveform is applied during a sustain period of the AC PDP, improves only the bright of a blue cell whose luminance is relatively low regardless of a cell structure because different pulses can be independently applied to the writing electrodes of red, blue, and green cells during the application of the sustain pulse, and controls a color temperature by increasing the luminance of the blue and green cells.

When temperature of a panel or an ambient temperature of the panel is higher than a reference temperature, the number of reset rising waveforms applied during one frame is increased. Accordingly, degradation of the panel contrast according to a set-up discharge can be prevented, and a discharge can stably occur at a high temperature.
