Abstract:
A communication system including a device, an access point (AP) communicating with the device, and a mobile terminal communicating with the device and the AP, and a method in which the device and the AP share a device key that is a private key used in wireless local area network (WLAN) communication, are provided. A one-directional function operation module is provided in each component constituting the communication system, thereby enabling one-directional function operation. Data to be transmitted and received is applied to one-directional function operation in one-directional function operation module, such that the data can be securely transmitted or received.
Abstract:
A method for curing a virus of data used in a mobile terminal communicating with a server through a mobile communication network is provided. The method includes forming an antivirus program database on the server and continuously updating the database with antivirus programs; comparing state information of object data requiring virus checking by the updated antivirus programs among existing data stored in the mobile terminal with state information of the updated antivirus programs; and checking and curing the virus of the object data selectively.
Abstract:
An encryption and decryption apparatus includes a round key generator generating at least one round key for iterative operations in each of a plurality of rounds using an input key for one of the encryption and decryption; an initial round key adder receiving a plurality of divided parts of an input data, consecutively receiving a plurality of parts of an initial round key which is output from the round key generator for an initial round and corresponds to each of the divided input data, and adding the input data and the corresponding part of the initial round key; a first operator receiving a first data which is output from the initial round key adder and a part of the round key which is output from the round key generator and performing operations for one of the encryption and decryption; a second operator receiving a second data which is output from the initial round key adder and another part of the round key which is output from the round key generator, and performing operations for one of the encryption and decryption; and a register part temporarily storing the first data which is output from the first operator and the second data which is output from the second operator, inputting the first and second data to the first and second operators, respectively, for operations of a next round among the plurality of the rounds, and outputting an encrypted or decrypted data when the plurality of the rounds are completed.
Abstract:
Modular operations are used to perform encryption/decryption of keys in a public cryptosystem. The modular operations process a first data in parallel with a second data to provide for the processing of the keys for the public key cryptosystem to determine a key for the public key cryptosystem based on the first and second data. Providing the keys in parallel may allow a reduction in the size of the intermediate results generated through the operations performed using the keys. Reducing the size of the intermediate results may allow smaller registers to be used to implement a public key cryptosystem.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for restricting the functions of a device are provided. A restriction monitoring system includes a communication system that provides a location-limited communication channel that detects whether a device entering a perimeter is in an area for device inspection, a server that provides a credential and a security policy to the device and receives a report on whether the device violates the security policy through the location-limited communication channel, and an alarm system which triggers a security alarm when the device violates the security policy.
Abstract:
A packet security method and apparatus adjusts a security level of the packet according to a feature of the packet. The packet security method includes detecting a feature of a packet to be transmitted, determining a security level of the packet according to the detected feature, and generating a security packet according to the determined security level. The feature of the packet is at least one of a destination address of the packet, a transfer protocol of the packet, a packet size, an application for the packet, and a designated security level for the packet. According to the method, the security function is adoptively applied according to the feature of the packet being transmitted, and thus flexibility can be provided in the application of the security function to achieve an efficient use of resources.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method are provided for reducing time taken for generating a digital signature and generating the digital signature using a minimum number of operations using at least two secret keys. One secret key among at least two secret keys may be set from a value resulting from hashing a message to be transmitted. A number of times for hashing the secret key is determined, and a value resulting from hashing the determined secret key by the determined hashing number of times is set as the digital signature.
Abstract:
A system to output an icon in response to a hot-key input, including a microcomputer to sense an instruction input through a hot-key and to output a scan code corresponding to the instruction, a keyboard launcher to receive the scan code from the microcomputer, to analyze the scan code, and to generate a message that requests an output of a hot-key icon indicating the operation of the hot-key based on the analyzed scan code, a system basic input/output system (BIOS) to provide information required to output the hot-key icon, and a display manager to receive the message generated by the keyboard launcher and to output the hot-key icon based on the information received from the system BIOS.
Abstract:
Disclosed are a method and apparatus capable of reducing the number of computations required to generate a digital signature by a digital signature generator. A digital signature generator generates a code word for a received message by a function F for generating a code word having a set weight value and generates a digital signature based on the generated code word and an inverse of a public parity check matrix H, the parity check matrix H is one way function. A digital signature receiver converts the received message using the function F for generating a code word, and multiplies a public parity check matrix H by a received digital signal, the public parity check matrix H is a one way function, and comparing the converted value with the multiplication result.
