Abstract: The present invention is directed towards a conditioning composition comprising, in an aqueous medium, at least one nonionic film forming polymer; at least one viscosity modifying agent; at least one cationic polymer; at least one cationic surfactant; and wherein the composition is free of silicones. Preferably, the composition is clear in appearance. The present invention also relates to a process for conditioning keratinous substrates.
