Abstract: A combined analogue/digital computer in which analogue functions of slowly varying analogue input signals are computed and stored as analogue output signals under the control of a digital programme memory. The selection of the input signals, selection of the function and selection of a store for each analogue output signal is controlled by a digital instruction word, and a clock defines time slots each assigned to a respective instruction word and during which time each analogue input may be considered to be constant. A conditional programme branch facility is provided. A variable gain amplifier and a multiplying device are used for the analogue functions. Output stores include ''''sample-and-hold'''' stores, integrating stores and a ''''maximum value'''' store. Selectable circulating paths are digitally controlled to recirculate outputs back to inputs.
