Abstract: Apparatus for winding a strand about a core. A pair of spaced rotatable elements are provided on which sufficient strand is wound to completely wind the core. Mechanism is provided for driving the rotatable elements to deliver the strand to be wound on a suitably supported core. Means is provided for sequentially and automatically picking off the wraps of strand wound off the rotatable elements, each picking off step being accomplished only after the prior strand wrap has been substantially wound onto the core.
