Abstract: Disclosed is a liquid crystal display (LCD) device that includes a lower substrate including a thin film transistor array; an upper substrate spaced apart from and facing the lower substrate; a black matrix formed on the upper substrate; a color filter formed on the black matrix; an overcoating layer formed on the color filter; and a column spacer positioned on the overcoating layer, wherein the color filter has a pattern protruding in a direction from a region where the column spacer is positioned to a side of an adjacent color filter.
