    Abstract: In an embodiment, a backlight unit includes a light-emitting device and lower reflector on a substrate. The lower reflector has a hole that accommodates and exposes the light-emitting device. The lower reflector may have a height greater than a height of the light-emitting device. The backlight unit may include a color resin in the holes and on the light-emitting device. The backlight unit may include a light path modulator above the light emitting device and on the color resin. The light path modulator may have a different refractive index than a refractive index of the color resin to reflect the emitted light at a boundary of the light path modulator and the color resin towards the lower reflector.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a backlight unit comprising at least one light emitting unit emitting light in a first wavelength band, a phosphor film exciting the light in the first wavelength band emitted from the light emitting unit to emit the light in the first to a third wavelength bands, a first reflective film disposed in a position corresponding to a rim of the phosphor film and causing to reflect the light in the first wavelength band, a second reflective film disposed adjacent to the first reflective film and causing to reflect the light in the second and third wavelength bands, and a dam disposed around the light emitting unit.     Abstract: In an embodiment, a display device comprises a display panel and a backlight unit. The backlight unit comprises a printed circuit, a light-emitting device on the printed circuit, and a transparent film including a holographic film. The holographic film includes at least an optical pattern overlapping the light-emitting device and modifying angle of a portion of light emitted by the light-emitting device. The backlight unit further comprises a light output pattern, where the portion of light with the modified angle passes through the light output pattern toward the display panel. The light output pattern may have a refractive index greater than a refractive index of the transparent film such that a refraction angle of the portion of light exiting the light output pattern is less than the incidence angle of the portion of light entering the light output pattern.

    Abstract: In an embodiment, a display device comprises a display panel and a backlight unit. The backlight unit comprises a substrate, phosphor film, light-emitting devices, and light-modifying portion. A part of light emitted by the light-emitting devices traveling along a first path that passes through the phosphor film and another part of the emitted light traveling along a second path that bypasses the phosphor film. The light-modifying portion is in the second path and modifies a color of the other part of the emitted light so that the modified color is closer to a color of the part of the light through the phosphor film than a color of the emitted light at the light-emitting devices.
