Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a backlight unit and a display device including the backlight unit. The backlight unit includes a first pattern in a first region of a light guide plate including a light incidence surface and a second pattern in a second region of the light guide plate extending from the first region, so that, in the first region, a directional angle of light can be improved so as to prevent the occurrence of hot spots, and in the second region, a line light source can be converted into a plane light source.

Abstract: A viewing angle controlling film, a backlight unit using the same, and a display device using the same are disclosed. The viewing angle controlling film comprises a first area where light transmittance is not converted; and a second area where light transmittance is converted, wherein the second area includes a light-transmittance conversion portion configured to react with light of a predetermined wavelength range to convert the light transmittance and not to react with light of a wavelength range other than the predetermined wavelength range.
