Abstract: A compressor according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes: one or more impellers configured to draw in a refrigerant in an axial direction and to compress the refrigerant in a centrifugal direction; a rotating shaft, to which the impellers and a motor rotating the impellers are coupled; a thrust bearing supporting the rotating shaft; a bearing state sensor configured to detect surface roughness of the thrust bearing; and a controller configured to control the motor based on the surface roughness of the thrust bearing.
