Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a cooking device and a control method thereof and, more specifically, a cooking device using heat, such as an oven, and a control method thereof. The present disclosure may comprise: a main body; a cooking chamber which is provided in the main body so that one surface thereof is open, and includes a plurality of stages supporting positions of racks on which food to be cooked is accommodated; a door installed on the opened surface of the main body; a camera module which is provided in the upper portion of the cooking chamber and includes a camera capturing an image of the position of the rack on which the food to be cooked is accommodated in the cooking chamber; a sliding portion which moves the rack between a first position outside the cooking chamber and a second position in the cooking chamber; and a controller which measures the volume of the food to be cooked by using a first captured image that is captured at the first position and a second captured image that is captured at the second position by the camera module.
