Abstract: A method of controlling a dishwasher is disclosed. The method includes supplying water to a sump, driving a wash pump using a wash motor, introducing a detergent into a tub, and determining whether the amount of bubbles is excessive based on the value of current applied to the wash motor. The determining whether the amount of bubbles is excessive is performed after a lapse of a predetermined period of time since the start of the introducing the detergent into the tub.

Abstract: A dishwasher that includes a tub including an interior area that is configured to receive objects and includes a bottom surface, wherein the bottom surface of the tub includes a first hole; a spray arm that is located in the tub and that is configured to spray water; a sump that is (i) coupled to the tub, (ii) located under the first hole, and (iii) configured to store water; a pump configured to provide water stored in the sump to the spray arm; a cover including a cover body that is coupled to the first hole, and a second hole penetrating the cover body; a supporter including a support body that is coupled to the second hole, and a third hole penetrating the support body; and a filter unit that is coupled to the third hole and that is configured to filter water provided to the sump is disclosed.
