Abstract: A method of controlling a washing machine, including: a first detection operation of acquiring an amount of laundry in a washing tub; selecting one of a plurality of washing courses based on the amount of laundry determined in the first detection operation; and performing the selected washing course. The plurality of washing courses includes a first washing course performing washing according to a first washing mode configured based on the amount of laundry and a second washing course performing washing according to a second washing mode configured based on the amount of the laundry and a state of the laundry. The second washing course includes a second detection operation of acquiring the state of the laundry by using a machine-learning network that processes an electrical current value applied to a motor for rotating the washing tub during an accelerated rotation of the washing tub.

Abstract: Disclosed is a control method for a washing machine having three or more lifters inside a drum. The control method includes: positioning the lifters on an outer side of a first area including a drum lower portion, and positioning laundry on the first area; performing a first rotation step to rotate the drum in a first direction so that one of the lifters is positioned on the first area and the laundry is positioned on the lifter positioned on the first area; and performing a second rotation step to rotate the drum in a second direction opposite to the first direction, so that the lifters are positioned on the outer side of the first area and the laundry is positioned on the first area, wherein the first rotation step and the second rotation step are performed alternately and repeatedly.

Abstract: A front-loading washing machine and a control method therefor are disclosed. The control method includes: when a sensed amount of laundry in a drum is equal to or less than a preset amount, rubbing step at which the drum is rotated in both directions, wherein the rubbing step comprises: a first rotation step at which the drum is rotated in a first direction by a preset one-direction rotational angle; and a second rotation step at which the drum is rotated by the one-direction rotational angle in a second direction opposite to the first direction, and wherein the first rotation step and the second rotation step are performed alternately and repeatedly. Accordingly, it is possible to perform a washing motion which improves washing performance and reduces wear and tear of the laundry.
