Abstract: A method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display device includes preparing first and second substrates having a plurality of cells, the first substrate having a black matrix and a color filter and the second substrate having a thin film transistor, forming first and second alignment layers on the first and second substrates, forming a seal pattern on one of the first and second substrates, attaching the first and second substrates, and cutting the attached first and second substrates into a plurality of individual liquid crystal cells along a scribing line at an area outside of the black matrix.
