摘要： A bypass valve assembly for a gas turbine engine includes a frame defining a first flow channel in flow communication, second and third flow channels separated by a splitter. A plurality of circumferentially juxtaposed bypass doors are disposed in the second channel and are positionable between a closed position preventing airflow into the second channel and an open position providing for airflow into the second channel. Means for automatically positioning the doors in the open and closed positions provides differential pressure across the doors in the second channel, and include a spring which provides a closing torque on the door.

摘要： A bypass valve system includes an annular frame defining a cavity and having an intermediate casing with an annular opening including a plurality of bypass valve doors disposed therein. An annular actuation ring is disposed in the frame cavity and a plurality of space links is pivotally connected between the ring and the bypass valve doors. Each of the space links includes a longitudinal axis and means are provided for rotating the actuation ring between a first position wherein each link longitudinal axis has a first inclination angle and the doors are in a first position, and a ring second position wherein the space link longitudinal axis has a second inclination angle less than the first inclination angle so that the links pivot the doors about a door first end to position the door in a door second position.

摘要： A static seal includes first and second spaced apart walls having a gap therebetween for channeling a pressurized fluid. The first wall includes a recessed seat facing the second wall defined by spaced apart first and second faces joined together at a base. A seal insert is loosely disposed in the seat and is trapped therein by the first and second faces. The first and second faces are shorter than the insert to project a top of the insert above the seat and below the second wall for initially promoting flow of the fluid over the insert top to deploy the insert in abutting contact with both the second face and the second wall to seal the gap.

摘要： A variable area turbine nozzle includes a plurality of circumferentially adjoining nozzle segments. Each nozzle segment includes outer and inner bands, with a plurality of first vane segments fixedly joined therebetween. A plurality of second vane segments adjoin respective ones of the first vane segments to define therewith corresponding vanes which are spaced apart to define respective throats of minimum flow area for channeling therethrough combustion gas. The second vane segments are pivotable to selectively vary the throat area.
