    摘要： According to one general aspect of the invention, a keyboard of a computing device includes a keycap and a light source. The keycap is configured to actuate a switch of the computing device. The keycap includes a metal material and has an upper surface and a lower surface. The upper surface of the keycap is configured to be viewed by a user while operating the computing device and defines one or more openings in the keycap. The one or more openings in the upper surface is patterned in the shape of a single alphanumeric character. The lower surface of the keycap defines one or more openings in the keycap. The keycap defines one or more passageways extending from the one or more openings defined by the upper surface of the keycap through the keycap to the one or more openings defined by the lower surface of the keycap. The light source is configured to emit light through the one or more passageways of the keycap from the lower surface side of the one or more passageways to the upper surface side of the one or more passageways.

    摘要： A peripheral device and attachment scheme is provided to enable peripheral devices to be detachably coupled to handheld computers. The attachment scheme enables a peripheral device to be piggy-backed with a handheld computer, with the two devices being connected so that the front face of the peripheral device is adjacent a back surface of the handheld computer. The peripheral attachment scheme includes a moveable latch element that is actuable through insertion of a laterally positioned mechanism. An operator may engage and disengage the latch element with the handheld computer with one hand.

    摘要： A handheld device with a compact integrated touch panel is disclosed. A handheld device incorporating a touch panel display requiring electrical connections is reduced in size by incorporating electrical pathways within the support structure of the touch panel display, obviating the need for a flex circuit extension from the touch panel display for connection to the handheld device. A further reduction in size is obtained by providing an inherent visually homogeneous perimeter for the touch panel display by matching the colors of the conductive and dielectric materials, thereby eliminating the need for a bezel.
