    Abstract: Disclosed is a pouring spout of the type comprising an inlet tube devised to be detachably connectable to the container for receiving the liquid stored therein and an outlet tube slideably connected to the inlet tube for guiding the liquid from the inlet tube to a receiving container. A liquid duct through which the liquid stored in the container can flow, is part of both the inlet tube and outlet tube. An air duct through which air can come freely inside the container, is also part of both the inlet tube and outlet tube. Such considerably reduces vacuum formation within the container and allows faster liquid transfer through the liquid duct. A valve system is provided for simultaneously opening the liquid duct and the air duct when the outlet tube is slideably moved relative to the inlet tube. An internal spring is also provided to keep the inlet and outlet tubes in such a position with respect to each other as to keep the valve system closed unless a pressure is applied to the outlet tube in order to slideably move it relative to the inlet tube. In accordance with the invention, the valve system is devised so as to cause the liquid duct and the air duct to open separately into the storing container. Such allows the liquid stored in the container to flow out freely out of the same through the liquid duct, and air to separately enter into the container via the air duct, thereby preventing any interference.

The liquid outlet duct and the air inlet duct can be both selectively opened and closed by a spring-biased valve system. The air inlet duct, when the valve system is moved from a closed position to an opened position, is initially made in fluid communication with the liquid-storage container only either simultaneously with the liquid outlet duct or immediately after the liquid outlet duct is initially made in fluid communication with the liquid-storage container. This arrangement prevents the liquid from filling the air inlet duct when the liquid is poured using the pouring spout.     Abstract: A pouring spout having an inlet portion and an outlet portion with an outlet end. A valve is mounted in the inlet portion and a device is provided for automatically opening or closing the valve as the spout is inserted in or withdrawn from the filling neck of a container to be filled. The valve opening or closing device comprises an actuating member connected to the valve, which number is slidable relative to the outlet portion. A spring normally biases the actuating member to a rest position where the valve is closed. Insertion of the spout in the filling inlet of the container causes the actuating member to move and to open the valve. Preferably the degree of opening of the valve is controlled in order to achieve varied flow rates. A hollow rib is provided on the exterior of the pouring spout to provide an air vent into a filling container.

    Abstract: This invention relates to an improved pouring spout of the type of ones which are detachably connected to a filling container for transferring liquid in a receiving container. These kind of pouring spout include an inlet tube for receiving liquid from the filling container, and an outlet tube telescopically mounted to slide onto the inlet tube for guiding liquid therefrom into the receiving container. The spout also comprises a liquid valve which opens and closes automatically upon sliding of the outlet tube. The current invention further comprises an air passage and an air valve for regulating an air flow inside the spout from the receiving container into the receiving container, such that the flow of liquid inside the spout stops automatically when the receiving container is full, thereby avoiding spillage of liquid. The pouring spout of the invention also resolve the problem of emanations related to the transfer of dangerous volatile and highly inflammable liquid.
