Abstract: An ambient air purifier includes a housing including at least a housing cover and a mounting base, wherein the housing has at least one flow inlet for ambient air to be purified and at least one flow outlet for cleaned air, a fan arranged within the housing, and at least one filter element. The at least one filter element includes at least one filter medium body, and at least a first lateral frame element is provided on at least an upper front end of the at least one filter medium body of the at least one filter element, having a larger cross section than the upper front end and protruding beyond the upper front end of the filter medium body with a protruding segment.
