Abstract: A rotary machine include: a rotational shaft; an impeller mounted to the rotational shaft; an impeller housing accommodating the impeller; a bearing housing accommodating a bearing which supports the rotational shaft rotatably, the bearing housing being fastened to the impeller housing; and a fastening member fastening the impeller housing and the bearing housing in an axial direction of the rotational shaft. The impeller housing, the bearing housing, and the fastening member each includes a contact surface in a direction intersection with an axial direction of the rotational shaft. A thin-plate member formed separately from the impeller housing, the bearing housing, and the fastening member is interposed between at least two of the contact surfaces.

Abstract: This sound quality evaluation method for a wastegate valve comprises: a vibration data acquisition step for acquiring a plurality of pieces of vibration data that indicate vibration occurring in a wastegate valve and that are in a prescribed time period during which the degree of openness of the wastegate valve changes; a POA data acquisition step for acquiring POA values at a prescribed frequency band of 0.5 kHz or greater from a plurality of frequency spectra attained by performing frequency analysis on each of the plurality of pieces of vibration data; and a vibration noise evaluation step for evaluating vibration noise occurring in the wastegate valve on the basis of the plurality of POA values.

Abstract: Provided is a vibration suppressing method for a supercharger, the supercharger including a shaft, a wheel arranged at one end or the other end of the shaft, and a housing including a wheel cover accommodating the wheel; the method including a determining step of determining a suppression target oscillation frequency to be a suppression target from among oscillation frequencies of the housing vibrating with shaft vibration of the shaft transmitted thereto, a preparing step of preparing a vibration suppressing unit having a natural frequency to be tuned in to the suppression target oscillation frequency, and an attaching step of attaching the vibration suppressing unit prepared in the preparing step onto an outer face of the housing.
