Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for object-initiated redaction of surveillance video is disclosed. Video analytics is used to detect and recognize a predefined gesture being made by an object appearing in analyzable video. In response to a determination that the predefined gesture has been made, at least some appearance instances of the object are redacted from videos captured by different cameras.
