摘要： A method of preparing and cleaning a floating filter medium for a biological cleaning apparatus includes the steps of forming a filter layer by placing in a treating tank a granular floating filter medium having a specific gravity of about 0.3 or less and a particle size of 1 to 15 mm. Wastewater enters the tank and flows through the filter layer. Excess sludge is separated and removed from the filter medium by discharging an amount of water from the treating tank, from below the filtered layer, equivalent to 0.5 to 1.5 times the filling amount of the filter medium in a time period of between 5 to 90 seconds.

摘要： Disclosed are a developer cartridge designed to permit discrimination of whether the cartridge is used or unused, and an image forming apparatus using this cartridge. The developer cartridge comprises a cylindrical body whose rotational axis extends in a direction perpendicular to a developer carrying direction of the developing unit; a first developer storage room, provided at the cylindrical body, for storing an unused developer; an opening formed in the first developer storage room; a case having a cylinder for rotatably retaining the cylindrical body, the cylinder having an injection port provided in association with the opening of the first developer storage room; a second developer storage room, provided at a lower portion of the cylinder of the case, for storing a used developer from the developing unit; and setting means selectively movable to a first position indicating an unused state of the developer cartridge and a second position indicating a used state of the developer cartridge to detect if the developer cartridge is unused or used. The image forming apparatus comprising an endless latent carrier; means for forming an electrostatic latent image on the endless latent carrier; developing means for developing the electrostatic latent image on the endless latent carrier; a developer cartridge detachably attached to the developing means for exchanging developers, and having the same components as the above-described cartridge; drive means for driving the cylindrical body of the developer cartridge for developer exchange; detecting means for detecting the setting means of the developer cartridge to detect if the developer cartridge is unused or used; and a control circuit for controlling the drive means in accordance with a detection result from the detecting means.

The printed circuit board is held by a bottom of the holding base body with the first connector held underneath the printed circuit board, such that a connecting port of the first connector faces a back side of the holding base body, and with an end edge of a front side of the holding base body positioned lower than an end edge of the back side thereof by an offset amount. The offset amount is set to be less than a thickness of the first connector.

摘要： The invention relates to a developer cartridge for exchanging developers in an apparatus which develops an electrostatic latent image, and an image forming apparatus using the developer cartridge. The developer cartridge has a first storage room for unused developer, a second storage room under the first room for storing used developer, openings in the first and second rooms and shutters provided therewith, together with a paddling mechanism in the first storage room for moving unused developer. The image forming apparatus has an endless latent carrier, a mechanism for forming an electrostatic latent image on the carrier and a mechanism for developing the latent image on the carrier. The developer cartridge is detachable positioned to the developing mechanism and a mechanism is provided for driving the shutters of the developer cartridge for exchanging used developer with unused developer.

摘要： A sheet cassette for an image forming apparatus supports a pivotally mounted sheet loading plate while giving a degree of freedom to the cassette tray by allowing a free end of the sheet loading tray to vertically move. Sheet guides for regulating the lateral position of sheets on the sheet loading tray are supported by the cassette tray and are aligned with apertures provided in the sheet loading plate, so that some play exists between the sheet guides and the cassette tray. Also, the problem that the sheets on the loading tray may run diagonally, or their printing position may be shifted laterally, when the sheet is fed from the cassette tray by the feed roller is overcome by the invention wherein a part of, or the entire sheet guides, are pivotally supported directly on the sheet loading plate so that each sheet guide is pivoted with respect to the sheet loading plate whereby, even when the sheet loading plate is moved upward, the sheet guides will not project outside the cassette tray but, instead, to the rear side of the sheet loading plate within the cassette tray. Apparatus is also provided for adjusting the fitting angle and the width direction position of the sheet loading plate.

摘要： In relation to cables, a cable apparatus, which enhances downsizing by housing a cable when not in use and operability at the time of housing and pulling-out operations, is provided. The cable apparatus for use in connecting electronic apparatuses comprises a chassis housing a cable with connector units connected to the electronic apparatuses; a winding mechanism winding and housing the cable within the chassis; and an operation unit applying a turning force to the winding mechanism and allowing the winding mechanism to wind the cable, wherein the operation unit is pulled up from the chassis to allow the winding mechanism to wind the cable when operated and is pulled down toward the chassis when not operated.
