Abstract:
This invention is directed to a two-position, at rest, seat angle adjustment assembly that locks the seat in two distinct positions. In a first position, the seat is generally horizontal, while in a second position, the seat is inclined at an angle relative to horizontal. The assembly includes left and right adjustment mechanisms, a rod, and a lever. The left and right adjustment mechanisms are mounted to the seat and the back assembly on each side thereof. Each of the mechanisms includes a housing, and a cam. The cam is received in the housing and the rod is fixably received within the cam. The lever is attached to the rod proximate the right adjustment mechanism. The lever is utilized to rotate the cams within their respective housings thereby moving the seat with respect to the back assembly.
Abstract:
A tilt mechanism is configured for adjustment of a tension applied by a chair back. The tilt mechanism includes a base, a back bracket tiltably supported on the base, and a rocker coupled to the back bracket so as to be moveable relative to the back bracket. The rocker has a pivot axis and pivots about the pivot axis when the back bracket tilts relative to the base. An energy storage mechanism is coupled to the rocker to exert a force onto a portion of the rocker. An actuating mechanism is coupled to at least one of the rocker or the energy storage mechanism and is configured to alter a distance between the pivot axis and the portion of the rocker at which the force is exerted onto the rocker, thereby altering a length of a lever arm.
Abstract:
A tilting device for a reclining chair including a support base that can be affixed to at least one pedestal, a mounting body for the back of a seat which is articulated on said support base rotatably around a first axis essentially orthogonal to said pedestal, a mounting plate for the seat of said surface of said seat which has its front end and back end rotatably articulated around a respective hinge axis generally parallel to said first axis respectively to said support base and to said mounting body, elastic means of thrust acting along a direction generally orthogonal to said first axis and having a first end acting on said support base and a second end acting on said mounting body and blocking means of said mounting body in at least two different angles relative to said support base and acting in opposition to said elastic means of thrust, said mounting plate assuming two corresponding different angles.
Abstract:
A tilt mechanism (10) for a chair comprises a base (11), a back bracket (12) configured to support a chair back (4) and a coupling arrangement (16, 25) configured to couple the back bracket (12) to the base (11). The coupling arrangement comprises a guide track (25) and a guide member (16). One of the guide track (25) and the guide member (16) is provided on a portion of the back bracket (12) extending from a back attaching portion (23) to a pivot coupling portion (24) at which the back bracket (12) may be articulated to a chair seat (3). The other one of the guide track (25) and the guide member (16) is provided on the base (11). When the coupling arrangement (16, 25) couples the back bracket (12) to the base (11), pivoting the back bracket (12) about the pivot coupling portion (24) causes the guide member (16) and the guide track (25) to be displaced relative to each other, effecting a displacement of the pivot coupling portion (24) relative to the base (11).
Abstract:
A high-technology armrest with integrated buttons connected to a command transmission cable for the adjustment of the seat and the seat back movements of an office chair with articulations for the synchronized movement of the seat plane and the seat back. The invention includes a mobile base of the “rocket launcher” type, from which base a column rises, which is adjustable in height, and which supports the seat plane and the reciprocally hinged seat back.A first armrest of the office chair is equipped near the front end with two side-by-side buttons.A second armrest of the office chair, designed symmetrically to the first, is equipped near the front end with a single-control button, for the function of adjusting the height of the chair.
Abstract:
A structure for an office chair with articulation by means of the synchronized movement of the seat and the backrest of the adjustable type, comprising a swivel type movable base, on this base a column is erected that is height adjustable, that supports a seat surface and a reciprocally hinged backrest, this backrest supports a headrest and a lumbar support that is also adjustable. The seat surface is connected frontally by means of two braces to the corresponding anterior side of a central support body anchored on the top of the adjustable column along the vertical axis. The central support body, at the back, supports with hinges the lower ends of two arm-rest stanchions provided with a device for the adjustment of the height of the seat and with an locking-unlocking device for the oscillation of the backrest and the chair, said stanchions further being hinged in an position intermediate to the ends of the support frame of the backrest. The frame of the backrest is hinged along the sides and in correspondence with the posterior part of the seat. A compressed spring is interposed between the central support body and the support frame of the backrest.

Abstract:
A chair-specific adjustment device is provided. The device includes a seat support and a base support linked to a gas column on which there is a rotating user-controlled handle. The handle controls the selection of the adjustment device's angular position as well as a safety limit clutch. The rotation of the handle generates traction of a tensional element that moves a limit switch. The limit switch runs transversely to the seat support and is shaped with steps that selectively interact with a limit appendage linked to the base support. The device includes a torsion bar that elastically limits the movement of the base support. As such, the device provides quick and easy adjustment of the backrest extension into various positions.
