摘要： A height adjustable mechanism for supporting a work support for vertical movement relative to a base includes a counterbalance mechanism for providing a force opposing a downward force tending to lower the work support; a lock mechanism for releasably retaining the work support in a desired vertical position; and a manual operator for selectively releasing the lock mechanism to permit vertical movement of the work surface, while preventing operation of the lock mechanism if the counterbalance force and the downward force are out of balance by some given extent. In the preferred construction, the lock mechanism is pivotally supported by a pin normally supported for axial sliding movement under the control of the manual operator, and the lock mechanism applies loading to the pin, when the counterbalance force substantially differs from the downward force, sufficient to constrain the pin against sliding movement, and thereby prevent release of the lock mechanism by the manual operator.

The front surface is positioned at a predetermined negative angle with respect to the back surface. A hinge assembly is operatively connected to the base, the front member and the side member for allowing pivotal movement of the front and back surfaces with respect to the base. The hinge assembly includes a handle operatively connected to a cylinder to control such pivotal movement. The back surface can be used to support a computer keyboard. The front surface can be used to support the arms of a person using the desk.

摘要： A mechanism for supporting a component, such as a CPU, below a support, includes a support member mounted to depend from the support and being adapted to undergo both horizontally directed sliding movement and pivotal movement about a vertically disposed pivot axis relative thereto, a pair of straps having first and second ends, and a strap tension adjustment device carried by the support member, wherein second ends of the straps are removably fixed to the support member and first ends of the straps are fixed to the tension adjustment device, such that the straps are suspended below the support member as U-shaped loops sized to receive the component therewithin, and the tension adjustment device is manually operable to releasably shorten the lengths of the loops for clamping the component in position relative the support member. The component may be selectively mounted such that its major side surfaces or panels are arranged either normal or parallel to a lower surface of the support.
