摘要:
A medication vending device is provided with at least three distinct vending modes. A first vending mode causes the device to output a prompt at the respective dose time. The prompt communicates to the patient that a dose of medication should be vended from the device by the patient and immediately consumed. A second vending mode causes the device to automatically vend a dose of medication at the respective dose time without requiring any action by the patient. A third vending mode causes the device to immediately vend a dose of medication without requiring any action by the patient. The third vending mode allows for selection of a daily dose time from the plurality of daily dose times, and selection of one or more future dates, so as to cause immediate vending of the medication doses for the selected daily dose time for the selected one or more future dates.
摘要:
A medication vending device is provided that includes an input interface configured to receive a signal outputted by a medical diagnostics device which indicates a parameter of the patient's body, and a memory that stores a dosing schedule for medication loaded into the device. The medication vending device generates an electronic message whenever a vending event occurs. The dosing schedule is compared with the vending events, and a signal is outputted indicating when the medication is being properly vended in accordance with the dosing schedule, thereby indicating that the patient is adhering to the dosing schedule. An alert signal is generated when the patient is adhering to the dosing schedule, but the parameter is abnormal for the patient.
摘要:
An automated method is provided for recording contents of medication packages vended from a plurality of vending machines in electronic records, such as an electronic medication administration record (eMAR), that store records for a plurality of patients who are associated with respective vending machines. A vending event causes the electronic record to be populated. The contents of the medication packages vended from the vending machines are recorded in electronic records without communicating patient names or vended medications in the electronic message sent from the vending machines.

摘要:
A medication vending device is integrated into systems that ensure compliance with a medication dosing schedule of a patient. The medication vending device contains medication packages to be vended in accordance with the patient's dosing schedule. The system can check for prescription changes that occurred between the date of generation of the medication packages and the date of loading the medication packages into the medication vending device, and provide appropriate alert messages to inhibit loading of the medication packages into the medication vending device. In addition, post-loading prescription changes can be detected, and appropriate alert messages or actions can be taken regarding the medication packages currently loaded into the medication vending device.
