Abstract:
A method including creating a local view for a local endpoint, where the local view is created from a local topology for the local endpoint, where the local topology is created from a central topology, scanning for a request to change the local view for the local endpoint, and updating the local view for the local endpoint when the request to change the local view will not violate the local topology for the local endpoint and will not violate the central topology.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for managing virtual collaboration systems are disclosed herein. A virtual collaboration system includes a distributor communicatively coupled to a first network and a second network having different network characteristics from the first network, the distributor configured to receive first media streams from at least one first network node, and to transmit the first media streams to at least one second network node; and a management subsystem adapted to dynamically configure a topology of a virtual collaborative event, wherein configuration of the topology includes a determination of media stream connections among the distributor and the at least one first network node based, at least in part, on at least one policy, and wherein the media stream connections establish and maintain virtual relationships among the at least one first network node and the at least one second network node.
Abstract:
An event management system is configured to host a first event that includes a first set of event endpoints that provides first and second sets of media streams to respective first and second sets of attendees during the first event. The event management system is configured to, while hosting the first event, create a second event that includes a second set of event endpoints that provide a third set of media streams to at least one of the first set of attendees and a fourth set of media streams during the second event. At least one of the second set of event endpoints is sufficiently separated from each of the first set of event endpoints so that the second event does not substantially interfere with the first event.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, media, and other embodiments associated with video encoder adjustment based on latency are described. One exemplary controller embodiment includes a latency determination logic to determine latency between a first video conference node and a second video conference node, and, an encoder adjustment logic to adjust latency of a video encoder based, at least in part, upon the determined latency.
Abstract:
A method of videoconferencing includes arranging a portable environment to include a first wall generally parallel to and spaced from a second wall and facing a videocamera on the first wall toward the second wall. An on-camera subject zone is implemented between the first wall and the second wall via: (1) setting a field-of-view of the videocamera to include the second wall while excluding a peripheral edge of the second wall; and (2) positioning a subject station between the first wall and the second wall and setting the on-camera subject zone within a boundary defined by the field-of-view of the videocamera extending from the subject station to the second wall.
Abstract:
A video conferencing system includes a camera and a display within a room. The camera is directed towards participants in a foreground against a background. The room has lighting defining at least foreground luminance. The display defines maximum display luminance, and the display and flare of the room define minimum display luminance. The camera, the display, and/or the room are adapted to provide one or more of the following. First, that the maximum display luminance is greater than the foreground luminance but less than the foreground luminance times a first constant. Second, that the maximum display luminance is greater than the minimum display luminance by more than a second constant. Third, that illumination color of foreground images displayed on the display substantially match illumination color of the foreground. Fourth, that a color of background images displayed on the display substantially matches a color of the background.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a display system that includes plural light sources, and a controller coupled with the light sources and configured to modify sequencing of the light sources to display an image based on display conditions.
Abstract:
Metadata associated with a first image and that specifies an alignment reference line for the first image is accessed. Based on the accessed metadata associated with the first image, a layout for concurrently displaying the first image and a second image at a location is defined that substantially aligns the alignment reference line of the first image with an aspect of the second image.

Abstract:
Telepresence system having a media wall with one or more cameras and a participant table located a fixed distance from one or more of the cameras are useful in creating images for video conferencing. A back edge of the table is convex and a center of the back edge is aligned with a central camera. The center of the back edge is located horizontally closer to the central camera than either end of the back edge.
