Abstract: The present invention provides methods and compositions for producing elite lines of corn exhibiting reduced tassel skeletonization severity (TSS). Also provided in the present invention are corn plants exhibiting reduced TSS resulting from such methods, and methods for breeding corn such that the reduced tassel skeletonization traits may be transferred to a desired genetic background.
