Abstract: A gate apparatus includes a pair of gate units which are distanced from each other with an interval of width of a passage area allowing a moving body to bidirectionally pass therethrough along a vertical plane on a horizontal plane. The gate units are each equipped with a first flapper gate in a first direction and a second flapper gate in a second direction. One gate unit is equipped with a first imaging means to capture a first image of the moving body in the first direction while another gate unit is equipped with a second imaging means to capture a second image of the moving body in the second direction. The first flapper gate and the second flapper gate are controlled to open or close the passage area based on at least one of the first image and the second image.
