Abstract: A monitoring system is provided, including: a data acquisition means for acquiring first data indicating a distribution of at least one physical quantity in a longitudinal direction of an optical fiber calculated based on backscattered light of the optical fiber installed in an infrastructure facility, and second data indicating the at least one physical quantity detected by a measurement sensor installed in the infrastructure facility; a failure detection means for detecting a failure of the infrastructure facility, based on the first data and the second data; and an output means for outputting a detection result by the failure detection means.
