Abstract:
A data stream system includes one or more monitored machines generating real-time data stream that describes system activities of the monitored machines; a data stream management module receiving the real-time data stream; and a data stream archiving module coupled to the data stream management module, the data stream archiving module including a data stream receiver and a data stream inserter.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for detecting anomalous communications include simulating a network graph based on community and role labels of each node in the network graph based on one or more linking rules. The community and role labels of each node are adjusted based on differences between the simulated network graph and a true network graph. The simulation and adjustment are repeated until the simulated network graph converges to the true network graph to determine a final set of community and role labels. It is determined whether a network communication is anomalous based on the final set of community and role labels.
Abstract:
A method and system are provided. The method includes storing, in a memory, temporal data for a temporal graph. The memory includes a temporal graph storage structure having a set of buckets. The temporal data stored in the buckets includes respective data segments implemented using graph edges. Each of the graph edges has a start time and an end time associated therewith. The method further includes the methods, performed by a processor, of: forming an index that categorizes the graph edges based on the end times of the graph edges; positioning the graph edges within respective ones of the buckets for storage using the index such that the graph edges are positioned in the respective ones of the buckets in a chronological order that is based on the end times; and accessing the temporal graph storage structure using the index responsive to a temporal graph query.
Abstract:
Systems and a method are provided. A system includes a Temporal Behavior Query Language (TBQL) server having a processor and a memory operably coupled to the processor. The TBQL server configured to construct a TBQL query using a grammar inference technique based on syntactic sugar to expedite query construction. The TBQL server is further configured to execute the TBQL query to generate TBQL query results.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for dependency tracking include identifying a hot process that generates bursts of events with interleaved dependencies. Events related to the hot process are aggregated according to a process-centric dependency approximation that ignores dependencies between the events related to the hot process. Causality in a reduced event stream that comprises the aggregated events is tracked.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for intrusion detection include determining a causality trace for a flagged event. Determining the causality trace includes identifying a hot process that generates bursts of events with interleaved dependencies, aggregating events related to the hot process according to a process-centric dependency approximation that ignores dependencies between the events related to the hot process, and tracking causality in a reduced event stream that comprises the aggregated events. It is determined whether an intrusion has occurred based on the causality trace. One or more mitigation actions is performed if it is determined that an intrusion has occurred.
