Abstract: This production method produces a stator that includes a plurality of segment coils that are annularly arranged in a plurality of layers that overlap in the radial direction of a stator core. The production method involves a tool that has teeth being moved by a robot manipulator and the teeth being inserted between the ends of leg parts of the layers. The ends that engage the teeth are thereby bent so as to be substantially crank-shaped. Before the teeth are inserted between the ends, a restraining jig is inserted between bend parts of the segment coils of the layers and an end surface of the stator core that is on one side in the axial direction.

Abstract: A production method for a stator involves forming leg parts of rectangular wire coils such that the leg part that is on one side in the circumferential direction of a stator core is longer in the axial direction of the stator core than the leg part that is on the other side in the circumferential direction. At each layer of every slot, the leg part on the one side of one rectangular wire coil is laid on the outside in the radial direction of the leg part on the other side of another rectangular wire coil. A second jig is pressed against the plurality of rectangular wire coils from one side in the axial direction toward the other side in the axial direction. As a result of this pressing, only the tip of the leg part on the one side of each layer is pressed against a respective step of a stepped part of a first jig.
