Abstract: An imaging device with a compact design allows illumination with a light source and imaging with an image sensor. An imaging device includes a front case having a front surface including a window and a lens-holder receptacle aligned with each other in a width direction (X-direction), a lens holder including a lens and attachable inside the lens-holder receptacle in the front case, a first circuit board on which an image sensor to receive light through the lens in the lens holder is mounted, and a second circuit board on which an LED to emit light through the window in the front case is mounted. The first and second circuit boards extend entirely in the width direction. The second circuit board is located frontward from the first circuit board.

Abstract: An imaging device includes a first case, a second case joined to the first case, a substrate receiving an electronic component accommodated in an internal space defined by the first and second cases, a lens barrel holding a lens and supported by the first or second case, and a waterproof seal held in a waterproof-seal holding space between the first and second cases. The first case has a first surface substantially perpendicular to an optical axis, a second surface substantially parallel to the optical axis, and an inner surface meeting the first surface and extending in the optical axis direction. The first and second surfaces form the waterproof-seal holding space. The inner surface faces the substrate edge. The second case has a third surface substantially perpendicular to the optical axis and a fourth surface substantially parallel to the optical axis. The third and fourth surfaces form the waterproof-seal holding space.

Abstract: In a vehicle-mounted image recognition apparatus, a resolution of an image projected on an imaging plane of an image sensor is different at a position away from a center between a circumferential direction and a radial direction. To make a circumferential resolution higher than a radial resolution, at least a lower half of the imaging plane is located closer to a circumferential focus than a middle of a radial focus and the circumferential focus at a position off the optical axis center of the image projected on the image sensor through the image-forming optical system. This is achieved by adjusting the position of the imaging plane when manufacturing or by selecting a lens with high circumferential resolution. This apparatus improves recognition accuracy in recognizing traffic lanes without using an expensive lens exhibiting high resolution both in the circumferential direction and in the radial direction.

Abstract: An imaging apparatus includes an image-forming optical system assembly, an image sensor, a sensor retaining portion that retains the image sensor, a coupling portion that is fixed to the image-forming optical system assembly, and a movement suppressing member that is immovable with respect to the coupling portion. The image-forming optical system assembly includes an optical system-side adhesive surface, the coupling portion includes an opposite surface, and the sensor retaining portion includes a sensor-side adhesive surface. A first adhesive is filled in at least a portion of a gap between the optical system-side adhesive surface and the sensor-side adhesive surface, and comes into contact with both of the optical system-side adhesive surface and the sensor-side adhesive surface. The movement suppressing member contacts the opposite surface, and contacts the sensor retaining portion on a surface facing the rear side out of surfaces of the sensor retaining portion.

Abstract: An electronic component mounting member, comprising: a flexible substrate, having flexibility, for connecting with another member, comprising: a main unit portion on which electronic components are mounted, and an extending portion, formed extending from the main unit portion, and having a terminal for connecting to another member; and a bending suppressing member disposed in the vicinity of a boundary line between the main unit portion and the extending portion, wherein: the flexible substrate has a cutout formed in the vicinity of the boundary line, and is connected to the other member in a state wherein the boundary line is bent. This enables provision of an electronic component mounting member for vehicle mounting, or the like, for preventing the occurrence of, for example, cracking of solder of electronic components that are mounted, even when using a flexible substrate.

The lens holder and the upper case are formed integrally. In such an imaging device, the lens holder and the upper case are formed integrally, and thus when compared to a configuration wherein the lens holder and the upper case are structured separately, the number of components can be reduced, thereby enabling a reduction in costs.
