    Abstract: Provided is a method for producing a separator for nonaqueous electrolyte electricity storage devices that includes a porous epoxy resin membrane, the method including: a step (i) of preparing an epoxy resin composition containing an epoxy resin, a curing agent, and a porogen; a step (ii) of cutting a cured product of the epoxy resin composition into a sheet shape or curing a sheet-shaped formed body of the epoxy resin composition so as to obtain an epoxy resin sheet; a step (iii) of removing the porogen from the epoxy resin sheet using a halogen-free solvent so as to form a porous epoxy resin membrane; a step (iv) of irradiating the porous epoxy resin membrane with infrared ray so as to measure infrared absorption characteristics of the porous epoxy resin membrane; and a step (v) of calculating a membrane thickness and/or an average pore diameter of the porous epoxy resin membrane based on the infrared absorption characteristics. This production method can avoid the use of a solvent that places a large load on the environment, and is adapted for control of parameters such as the average pore diameter and the membrane thickness.
