Abstract: A motion estimation method is provided which includes for each respective block of the current frame, selecting a candidate set associated with the current frame and a previous frame, the candidate set comprising at least one spatial candidate block in the current frame and a plurality of temporal candidate blocks in the previous frame, wherein the step of selecting the candidate set comprises: selecting the at least one spatial candidate block directly adjacent to the each respective block from the current frame; and selecting the plurality of temporal candidate blocks directly adjacent to a reference block from the previous frame; and determining a motion vector according to the candidate set for the each respective block of the current frame.

Abstract: An image interpolation method is utilized for performing an interpolation on a source image to obtain a destination image. The image interpolation method includes performing a domain transformation on a plurality of pixels of the source image to generate a plurality of first coefficients and a plurality of second coefficients; respectively determining an data interrelationship degree in at least one direction of each first coefficient to generate a plurality of direction results; performing a first interpolation process on the plurality of first coefficients according to the plurality of direction results to generate a plurality of first destination coefficients; performing a second interpolation process on the plurality of second coefficients to generate a plurality of second destination coefficients; performing a reverse domain transformation on the plurality of first destination coefficients and the plurality of second destination coefficients to obtain the destination image.

Abstract: A method of color conversion from a red-green-blue (RGB) color space to a red-green-blue-white (RGBW) color space on an input image includes calculating RGB and white gains with respect to an image block of the input image, calculating RGB and white gain with respect to a pixel of the image block, wherein the white gain with respect to the pixel of the image block is adjusted based on the RGB gain with respect to the pixel of the image block, and performing the RGB to RGBW color conversion based on the RGB and white gain with respect to the pixel of the image block, which improves local color and detail performance of an output image corresponding to the input image.

Abstract: A method is provided for reconstructing a high dynamic range (HDR) video from a low dynamic range (LDR) video. The LDR video is captured with dynamic exposure values by a regular camera device to store as an LDR video file. An exposure setting sequence and an LDR video frame sequence are retrieved from the LDR video file, where the exposure setting sequence corresponds to the LDR video frame sequence. The LDR video frame sequence is aligned to generate a compensated frame sequence to merge with the LDR video frame sequence, so as to generate an HDR frame sequence and reconstruct the HDR video.
