摘要： The present invention is a distal protection device for use during a vascular treatment, such as angioplasty or atherectomy. A filter assembly located on the distal end of a delivery member is deployed distally of the vascular region to be treated to capture emboli released during and immediately after the procedure. The filter is then retracted to retain any captured emboli and then removed from the patient.
