Abstract: An electrochemical device including a negative electrode. The negative electrode includes a negative electrode current collector and a negative electrode active material layer. The negative electrode active material layer includes a negative electrode active material and a negative electrode additive. The negative electrode active material contains graphite. Orientation index OI of the negative electrode active material is less than or equal to 11. In the thermogravimetric analysis, weight loss rate of the negative electrode active material layer in a temperature range of 25° C. to 600° C. is WT %, satisfying 1≤WT≤2.5. The electrochemical device achieves balance among high volumetric energy density, excellent cycling performance, and good low-temperature rate performance.
