A photographing apparatus includes an image pickup section configured by a photographing optical system for aiming at a target, and an image pickup device, a display section for receiving an image signal outputted from the image pickup section, and for displaying an image, a display control section for controlling display on the display section, a main object setting section for setting the target based on the image signal outputted from the image pickup section, and a zoom control section for performing zooming with respect to the target, wherein auxiliary displaying for clearly indicating a position of the target set by the main object setting section is performed, being superimposed on the image displayed on the display section.

An imaging apparatus includes an imaging unit configured to generate an image at each of predetermined timings, wherein an exposure time is used at each of predetermined timings. The imaging apparatus includes at least one circuit which divides, according to whether or not a specific photography situation occurs, the exposure time, into a plurality of exposure times including a first exposure time for acquiring still image and a second exposure time for acquiring movie; and generates a still image, based on an image generated by photography with the first exposure time, and generates a movie frame constituting a movie, by using an image generated by photography with the second exposure time.

An image composition apparatus according to the present invention comprising: an image acquiring section for acquiring first image data and second image data; a subtraction processing section for obtaining a difference value for each pixel for at least a part of the first image data and at least a part of the second image data; a filter processing section for applying filter processing based on a spatial frequency of an image to the difference value; and an image composition section for compositing at least a part of the first image data with at least a part of the second image data on the basis of an output of the filter processing.

An observation apparatus includes a casing, an imaging unit, a driving mechanism and a processor. The casing includes a transparent plate and is configured to hold a sample placed on the transparent plate. The imaging unit is provided inside the casing and generates image data by taking an image through the transparent plate. The driving mechanism is provided inside the casing and moves the imaging unit. The processor assists control of sample imaging, based on image data which the imaging unit generates by imaging a code.
