The invention provides a set-up method for setting up a management session between a first piece of equipment of a first network and a first management device for managing this piece of equipment that belongs to a second network, the method comprising: setting up (F70) a management session between a second piece of equipment of the first network that is reachable from the second network, and a second management device managing the second piece of equipment that belongs to the second network; the second management device acting during the management session to send (F80) a request to the second piece of equipment requesting the second piece of equipment to download a content at an address provided by the first piece of equipment in order to set up a management session therewith; the second piece of equipment executing (F110) the download request; and in response to this execution, the first piece of equipment initiating (F170) a connection with the first management device to set up a management session therewith.

A method for controlling selection of a communication method between an equipment control device belonging to a wide-area communication network and equipment belonging to a local communication network. The method includes the following steps relating to the control device: requesting the equipment to initiate a connection to the control device, the request being sent at the time of a routine connection of the equipment to the control device; determining whether the equipment can be reached by the control device using a direct method; and configuring the equipment if the equipment cannot be reached using a direct method.
Abstract:
A technique is provided for remote administration, by an administration apparatus, of a device belonging to a private communication network. The device sends administration data to the administration apparatus via an access network. The administration data includes a first item of connection data and a contact number associated with the device in a signalling network. In order to administer the device, the administration apparatus sends a connection request to the device via the signalling network by using the received contact number. This connection request triggers the establishment of a session by the device with the administration apparatus via the access network.

A method for coordinating a plurality of device management servers, the plurality of device management servers including at least a first management server and a second management server. The method includes: receiving a first instruction for a first device connected to the first management server; receiving a second instruction for a second device connected to the second management server; obtaining information concerning dependency between the first and second devices; based on the dependency information and rules for coordinating the execution, determining an order of execution of the first instruction and second instruction; generating and sending a first control signal for executing the first instruction and a second control signal for executing the second instruction according to the determined order.

A technique for accessing at least one administration server connected to a wide area communication network is disclosed. An access point allowing access to the wide area communication network detects a wireless administration network dedicated to an exchange of administration data with the at least one administration server. Following this detection, the access point connects to this wireless administration network and activates this administration network by itself in repeater mode, in which it repeats data received on said wireless network. This allows a device to exchange administration data with the administration server when a fault affecting its access to the wide area communication network occurs.
